The Assistant Director of Student Support and Success will coordinate programs and initiatives to support marginalized and underrepresented students within the Department of Multicultural Life (DML). The Assistant Director will report to the Assistant Dean of Multicultural Life and Director of Student Support and Success and assist in the coordination of programs that promote student success and belonging at Macalester. The Assistant Director will contribute to the MOSAIC peer mentorship program, create programs and workshops, and develop student success resources for underrepresented students, including but not limited to first-generation to college students, low income students, and BIPOC students with particular attention towards Latinx students. Working with the Assistant Dean and Dean of Multicultural Life, the Assistant Director will connect DACA and/or mixed status students with personal, educational, and legal supports to maintain immigration and/or legal status.
Macalester College seeks to hire an Audio Visual Technican for the A/V Services function in the ITS department. This position provides outstanding service to campus event planners through collaborative planning, coordination, set-up, operation, recording, and striking of audio/visual systems including traditional event A/V systems and digital webinar/meeting tools. This position assists with learning and meeting space audio/visual support.
The Web Developer configures and administers the web content management system, and plans and maintains the technical foundation for the college website and web servers. The Web Developer works collaboratively with staff in Information Technology Services to monitor and configure web server infrastructure. This position monitors web systems for performance and standards compliance and provides leadership for data sharing across systems in support of digital engagement strategies. The Web Developer also designs, develops, and supports web applications that serve the needs of the Macalester community and enable effective online communications for the college’s outreach, marketing, and recruitment efforts.
Macalester College seeks to hire an Operating Engineer to work in its Facilities Services Department during the academic year. This position will be responsible for monitoring, maintenance, and operation of the central heating plant high-pressure boiler system and central chillers during the academic year, September thru May.
Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, is seeking a full-time Custodian to provide all the cleaning, waste, and recyclable removal services, snow clearing of all entrances, carpeting and hard floor maintenance, and light bulb changes on campus. These custodians are also responsible for event set ups, including delivery and set of up tables, chairs and equipment, cleaning prior to and after an event and tear down of the equipment.
This position has a starting rate of pay of $17/hour with an increase to $19/hour after 6 months. Upon completing one year of service, this position is eligible for an increase of $22-$23/hour.
This position is a union opportunity, annual bidding occurs in June. You must be available and willing to move from first, second or third shift.

The Associate Library Director for Access, Instruction & Research Services (AIRS) manages and guides the staff responsible for research, instruction, circulation, interlibrary loan, reserves, and public access computing. They are the steward of library services providing leadership, vision, assessment, and strategies that ensure our services meet the needs of current and future scholars. This position serves as a member of the leadership team and contributes to strategic planning and direction of the library. The individual in this position focuses on outreach and partnership development and works closely with our academic community to ensure that public service, research, and instruction operations most effectively and efficiently support college curricular needs and scholarly endeavors. Key components of this position are to actively participate in serving the mission of the library and college, to provide excellent service, to keep current in the profession, to share expertise and experience with others, and to serve as a representative of the college, our library, and the library profession. Our college and library staff are committed to helping increase opportunities for individuals from underrepresented groups and seek applicants from diverse backgrounds and identities.
